Getting smarter and indulging in all kinds of pleasures didn’t make life any less meaningless for “the Preacher.” In today’s passage, he will explore wise living and work, noting that it all still seems meaningless. “The Preacher” will even get to the point of saying that he hates life. By the end of the chapter, though, we will see a glimmer of hope and we will end by turning to some other passages of Scripture that help us to put this section of Ecclesiastes in perspective.
