Jacob has struggled and he has received the blessing of the Lord. Now he faces another challenge. Esau approaches, Jacob gives, and Esau receives. The angry brother welcomes and the conniving brother is honest. Clearly, the Lord has changed Jacob, and Jacob now practices the old commandment: love one another. He puts his brother before himself. This commandment is for all who have been changed! It is for our relationships and to the glory of the reconciling Lord who wrestled Joseph and who invites us to submit alongside the man who "has striven with God and prevailed."
