Genesis 19 - The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah was very great. When the angels of the Lord visit to investigate the crimes of the city, they meet Lot--one righteous man. They are assaulted by men of the city, whose destruction is now imminent. The angels warn Lot, who delays, before dragging him out of the city. The Lord destroys the wicked cities with fire. Abraham is witness to the severity of the destruction; for Abraham's sake, God rescued Lot. The lawlessness does not end with Sodom. Lot is manipulated by his two daughters into unknowingly impregnating each of them. The children eventually father the Moabite and Ammonite nations. The Lord's final judgment upon evil will be sudden and severe.
