Peter has been close to Jesus for three years. Sure, he doesn't understand everything yet and he often speaks and acts impulsively, but He certainly seems to be a devoted follower of Jesus. But when the heat is turned up, how will he respond? And how about us? When the heat is turned up and it's no longer advantageous but maybe even costly for us to stand with Jesus, will we shrink back and distance ourselves from Him? When we do slip up, will God be gracious to us?
